Miserable service

Unfortunately HearingLife is now the provider for hearing services under Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. I had a hearing exam and ordered Oticon hearing aids from their Rockville Centre, NY office in December 2019. They also charged my credit card at that time. After numerous back and Fourths between the local office and their corporate headquarters, each blaming the other, the hearing aids finally came in mid February 2020. Had one followup with the audiologist who improperly reprogrammed the devices. By the next week the Covid19 lockdown was in effect. Fast forward to June and the phase 3 reopening. One hearing aid failed the last week in June. Made an appointment through the corporate 800 number. Went to the appointment to only find a darkened office with 2 days worth of mail and packages piled up outside the door. I called the local office number only to get an answering machine upon which I was expected to leave a message. Made another appointment for the following week. Again, a darkened office but an Audiology intern, the only one in the office answered my knock on the door. She couldnt repair the hearing aid and said it had to be sent out. Two weeks later I began calling. I left three messages that were never returned. The fourth call was answered by staff and I was informed that my $2500.00 hearing aid had just come in. I was also finally able to make an appointment with an audiologist to hopefully correct my hearing aid issues. I have a long history with this practice when they were HearingHelp Associates. It has definitely gone down hill since the practice was acquired by HearingLife.

Hearinglife Mail Review from Mcgehee, Arkansas

When a company canvases by sending unwanted mail makes me wonder. First how do they get mailing addresses. And second I find it funny when you can't find any reviews in real time by real customers. I can say this with them sending out mail. I'm sure many go to get free hearing check when most insurances cover tests. I really don't like getting mail that says I'll get something free. And when I walk in its all about a possible sale. Many of us could use hearing aids. But I don't like how this company uses mail to get us in the door. I've seen time share sellers using the same approach. And many of our elderly folks fall for it. Stop sending me mail I really don't want to through away your trash.

They told me at that my insurance would cover 100% of the cost of hearing aids. They were asked before the appointment and 3 times while at the office.

Almost a year later, I get a $3,840 bill insurance only paid of about $900.00 of it. I was not told the truth about the cost and now we fixn to get a lawyer on them.
